Peter Taylor, the current Mayor of Watford, has launched his manifesto in anticipation of the upcoming local and mayoral elections in Watford.

Last night, before a meeting of Watford Council, local people gathered on the steps of the Town Hall in a show of solidarity with the people of Ukraine.
Speeches were delivered by Mayor Peter Taylor and the Council’s chairman before raising the Ukraine Flag outside Watford’s Town Hall.
Watford Council is increasing council tax by just 1.5% for the upcoming financial year, the equivalent of an additional 8p per week for those in a Band D property.
This is the second year running where Watford’s council tax increase is the lowest of all Hertfordshire’s boroughs and districts. The increase is significantly lower than inflation which currently sits around 5%.
Hertfordshire’s Conservative-run County Council and Police and Crime Commissioner council tax increases are both significantly more than the Watford, at 3.99% and 4.96% respectively.
